I think all people have natural tendency to be "evil". Environment may play a role in a person's alignment by providing triggers and motivations. But yeah, I think genes may have something to do with it. For some, it takes very little motivation to push them to be "bad" while some are just as inert as rocks. And then there are the psychopaths who are clearly wrong in the head. Must have something to do with weird brain chemistry brought by genes or something.

I believe the vast majority of people are kind (even though we all have an evil side too). But some are indeed born evil, or with evil tendencies. Combine that with a rough childhood and you have your typical criminal.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that science shows criminals' brains are different.

You know...You are right! There was a study done about how criminals' brains are mapped differently.

It seems like everyone is born evil as well as good. I think that some ppl r born more good than evil and others more evil than good. The rest you 'learn'. But if two murderers had a child, would that child be evil? If you look back on the article about criminals having different minds, would that pass on to a child?

I think that the child probably has more of a chance of having aggressive
behavior than another child. However, you have to wonder if a child of two
murderers was placed with a loving, mentally health family, would he/she
turn out to be a criminal as well?

if you look back on the article about criminals having different minds, wouldn't that pass on to a child of two murderers while it was still in the womb? If so this would make it mare likely for the child to turn out evil, but you are righ: that doesn't make it certain that the child turns out to be evil as long as it is looked after in a loving family, but before the child gets the chance to learn about morals, would it be more evil than an average child might be?

I do think that a child who has criminal parents has more of a chance to do evil things that another child. However, I think that is coupled with his/her environment as well.

so then.. do u think u could tell from a foetus whether it would be the next hitler or not? Maybe not now but in the future? Plus.. if so could we add this as a feature to designer babies and create world peace (in the future some time?)

If there is such thing as a "criminal brain," then maybe we can figure out what are the triggers of "evil." If that is the case, then maybe designer babies would create world peace. However, it's just like he said in Jurassic Park..."Nature finds a way."

I've seen the "Bad Seed," and also the remake "The Good Son" with Eljiah Wood and Macaulay Culkin. When I saw those movies, I wondered if there are just some people who are born evil. I think that there is, but I wonder if how Ti xxx asked, will there be a way for scientists to find out what triggers that?
