Ooops...I meant to reply on Friendfeed, but since I started over here I'll reply quickly: it depends on where you are in the dating process (first few dates, probably the guy), on who asked who out, and on how much you're really into the other person. I'll jump in over on FF.

If a girl doesn't offer to pay by the third date and doesn't pay by the 5th or 6th one than we will have a problem. And if she invites me out then she should be prepared to pay although I will almost always offer. My disclaimer is that I am still single so perhaps my thoughts are wrong. But I have been involved with some "gold-diggers" which have tainted my view.
