Absolutely you did the right thing. It's hard not to feel guilty, but you have to defend your own rights when others are being unreasonable and taking advantage of you.

I'm trying to be more selfish about some things. I am way too nice and giving, and people take advantage of that.

Great post! One of my favorite expressions is 'I'm not available' It works in many situations and gives no information that can be used to argue the point.

A friend recently told me that 'drama is what happens when one person doesn't think about how their actions affect others' I've been seeing this to be true. Would you say so?

Inconsiderate, selfish people are usually the ones who start drama, so you are absolutely right.
